Nerdy Artists

My Journal

On The Right Track

Hello friends! I’m so sorry for not posting recently. I’ll admit that my blog is one most neglected aspects of Nerdy Artists, but I do want to work on that with some of the videos that are coming up. I have more free time next week to get some filming ahead done, so hopefully the blog will be back and functioning starting then!

Anyway, in my last post, I gave you guys a life update. We talked about my new nannying job, first, so I’ll start with an update on that. I absolutely love nannying and I’m actually in the process of finding a job that starts in the summer when my current job ends. It’s so much fun to play with the now 3 month old that I watch and it’s been so much fun to watch him grow up.

I also have a good amount of free time because when he’s not playing, looking out the windows with me, eating, or getting changed, he’s asleep. Right now he’s a cuddle bug and wants to be held 24/7, but in the time that he’s sleeping by himself, I make sure to do the dishes and laundry. Aside from that, there’s not too much for me to do, so I have time to do homework or write or draw if everything else is done.

Speaking of homework, I absolutely love the class I’m taking. It’s an art history class that teaches you how to think about art. We talk a lot about color and context and history and it’s totally discussion based, so it’s been really nice getting to know my classmates. Next week is spring break and the week after we have our first test, so my last class on Wednesday night was a review class. Our professor split us into groups and we went through the test and discussed the answers.

If you know anything about me, it’s that I’m pretty quiet, but if you can get me to open up, I usually will. In this class, I was super intimidated by some of the people because they were chatting away with ease while I couldn’t quite pipe in. But in my last class, I was leading the discussion with my small group, and then the entire class! I felt so great to share my ideas and at the end of the class, the professor and I chatted for a little while about my observations. It felt so good to speak up and share and I can’t wait to get back to class after break.

As for YouTube and Twitch, I’m not quite on my schedule, but I’m getting there. Yesterday was the end of my last 3 day a week schedule with nannying, so next week I start 4 days a week. If I stick to the schedule, I think I can get everything done, but it’s a matter of actually sticking to it and not getting off track. I did make two videos, both embedded below. One is my March Plan With Me and the other is a speed paint. I got some new watercolor supplies that I’m very excited to make videos on, so stay tuned for a lot more of that!

All in all, things are going well. I’m really enjoying the routine I have going on right now and I think with another week or two, I’ll have my routine down pat. I’m so excited to share more with you guys in the future and I’ll see you in the next post!
