Summer is here and with the changing of seasons, my skin care routine tends to change. In the winter, my skin dries out and I need to moisturize more, but in the summer, my skin gets more oily.
This summer, I decided to try three products that are new to me and I'm actually really excited about them! I've used St. Ive's and Neutrogena products before, but not these specific ones. I also am not being paid by either of these brands, I literally just bought these items today at my local CVS.
The first product is a Neutrogena product called the Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair Dark Spot Corrector. If you look at my face, you see acne scars and very little actual acne. A popular medication for fixing acne scars is Retin-A. The problem with Retin-A is that it isn't great for spending time in the sun which sucks for the summer. I am hoping that this corrector will serve as a great light moisturizer and take care of my acne scars all summer long!
The second product is the St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub. It is supposed to unclog dirt and oil from pores. I workout every morning and when I get home, I feel that my face is congested and oily and it needs to get out before I start the rest of my day. I am hoping that this scrub helps give my skin a nice clean start every day.
The last product is the St. Ives Acne Control Apricot Scrub. It's probably the most popular St. Ives product and when people recommend St. Ives, it's always this scrub. It's more aggressive than the Green Tea Scrub, so I plan on only using it every other night to prevent acne.
On the nights that I don't use the Apricot Scrub, I will be cycling through a few different face masks. One that I know I'll be using is the Lush Mask of Magnaminty. It's one of my favorite masks from Lush and it's really fun to do before bed because of the minty smell and cooling effect. I will also be using a couple different masks from CVS that I like, one other clay mask and then a cucumber peel off mask.
After Gym Routine - Green Tea Scrub and Dark Spot Corrector First Impressions
The Green Tea Scrub was amazing! I love that it was super gentle, the exfoliating pieces weren't too abrasive or anything. It also smelled absolutely amazing, just like green tea, and it was a nice way to relax in the shower.
The Dark Spot Corrector was also really nice! It left my skin feeling really soft which is key after using a cleanser and I can't wait to see if it starts addressing my dark spots!
Night Time Routine - Apricot Scrub First Impressions
This scrub is the one that I know St. Ives for. It smells amazing, I just think it's a little bit too abrasive for every day use. I think using it every other night or every few nights will be better for me. My skin can usually take anything, so if you have sensitive skin, I definitely wouldn't use this scrub every single day.
